We are looking for records (LPs and EPs, 12” and 7”, 33 and 45 rpm) in good condition with clean, undamaged covers. If your records have been well looked-after and they are the type of thing we buy, we will always give you the best price we can. We buy Pop, Rock, Folk, Jazz, Psychedelic, Disco, Soul, Funk, Alternative, Punk, Indie, New Wave, Electronic, Avant Garde, Heavy Metal, Hardcore, Experimental, Reggae, Ska, International, Soundtracks, Hip-Hop, Techno, Krautrock, Fusion etc

What types don't you buy?

We don’t buy records if they are scratched, scuffed, chipped or broken. We don’t buy records that have no covers or sleeves. We don’t buy mouldy, water-damaged, dirty or oily records that have been uncared for. We don’t buy 78s (gramophone records) or classical records.

In the area of Classic Rock, some names to look out for are David Bowie, The Beatles, The Rolling Stones, Neil Young, Crosby Stills and Nash, Pink Floyd, The Kinks, Van Morrison, Tom Waits, The Who, Led Zeppelin, Queen, Fleetwood Mac, T. Rex, Deep Purple, Thin Lizzy.

In the area of Funk and Soul, some names we look for are Al Green, Marvin Gaye, The Temptations, James Brown, Curtis Mayfield, Parliament, Funkadelic, The Meters, The Bar-Kays, Booker T & the MG’s, Aretha Franklin, Sam Cooke, Otis Redding, Sam & Dave, Mandrill.

In the area of  Psychedelic, Garage, Progressive and Art Rock, some names include The Velvet Underground, 13th Floor Elevators, The Seeds, The Sonics, Hawkwind, Grateful Dead, Moby Grape, King Crimson, Yes, The Yardbirds, Groundhogs, The Monks, The Missing Links.

In the area of Jazz, some of the most important labels are Verve, Impulse, Prestige, CBS, CTI, Kudu and Blue Note. Notable artists include Miles Davis, John Coltrane, Thelonious Monk, Chet Baker, Eric Dolphy, Horace Silver, Roland Kirk, Nina Simone, George Benson, Freddie Hubbard.

In the area of Punk, New Wave and Alternative, some names include Sex Pistols, The Clash, The Saints, The Birthday Party, The Smiths, The Cure, Public Image Ltd, Buzzcocks, Radio Birdman, Dead Kennedys, Black Flag, The Misfits, Siouxsie & The Banshees, Talking Heads.

In the area of Electronic, Experimental, Krautrock and Soundtracks, some names include Kraftwerk, Amon Duul, Can, Ennio Morricone, Goblin, Klaus Schulze, Jean-Michel Jarre, Tangerine Dream, Faust, John Cale, Ash Ra Tempel, Coil, Throbbing Gristle, Brian Eno
In the area of Folk, Folk-Rock and Acoustic, some artists include Nick Drake, John Martyn, Fairport Convention, Sandy Denny, Pentangle, Bert Jansch, John Fahey, Roy Harper.

In the area of Hip-Hop and Rap, we look for Beastie Boys, Run-DMC, Boogie Down Productions, De La Soul, Public Enemy, NWA, Kool G Rap, Pete Rock, Diamond D, Tribe Called Quest, Jungle Brothers, Geto Boys, Cypress Hill, Nas, Ice Cube, Ice-T, Big Daddy Kane.

In the area of Heavy Metal we look for names like Motley Crue, Slayer, Metallica, Exodus, Anthrax, Iron Maiden, Venom, Testament, Napalm Death, Overkill, Death Angel, Morbid Angel, Judas Priest, Guns ‘n’ Roses, King Diamond, Danzig, Megadeth, Black Sabbath.

We don’t buy any pre-rock ‘n’ roll era vinyl records like Easy Listening music, Dean Martin, James Last, Mantovani, Liberace, Klaus Wunderlich, Herb Alpert, Mrs. Mills, any orchestral pops or instrumental organ records, ballroom dance records, Reader’s Digest records, musicals etc. We are also not interested in the really commonplace pop records of the Sixties and Seventies like ABBA, Neil Diamond, Kamahl, The Seekers, Anne Murray, John Denver, Leo Sayer etc. These are just guidelines - if you need more information about selling your records, please get in touch with us.
